Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to join our Philanthropy Team.
The Senior Officer, Strategic Philanthropy, will establish and implement the overarching strategy and engagement for Donor Advised Funds Sponsors (DAFs), Community Foundations (CFs), and private wealth advisors. This position will spearhead external and internal relationship building, activities, innovation and results to increase awareness and support of the IRC. The role will align internal teams and systems to grow and sustain this expanding source of revenue.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategy Development: Implement the overarching strategy in coordination with Senior Director to grow revenue and influence with DAFs, CFs, and private wealth advisors in collaboration with External Relations leads that supports revenue growth toward the IRC’s Strategy 100.
• Portfolio Management: Maintain a portfolio of national DAFs and the large CFs to promote awareness of IRC as a top-tier humanitarian relief agency and local impact organization. Develop high-level relationships within institutions (e.g., CEOs, Senior Leads for Nonprofit) and facilitate introductions for other team members.
• Educational Opportunities: Collaborate with the Corporates Team to develop educational opportunities and brand positioning for advisors at institutions within the portfolio.
Expand IRC’s engagement with new financial institutions in the private wealth sector.
• Marketing Integration: Support the mass markets vision and strategy by integrating IRC engagement in external marketing opportunities such as DAF Day, Giving Tuesday, and other strategic giving opportunities.
• Internal Processes: Champion internal processes and innovation to facilitate increased giving and troubleshoot issues such as donation capabilities, acknowledgements, and reporting.
• Resource Support: Serve as a resource for internal team members on the benefits of DAF giving, working with smaller community foundations, and integrating DAF giving into donor conversations.
• Dashboard Management: Establish and maintain a DAF dashboard measuring current and historical account engagement, number of individual donors, and individual donor revenue for DAFs and CFs across External Relations Teams.
• Communication: Communicate DAF progress, engagements, initiatives, and issues across the organization. Convene a quarterly update for the working group and other appropriate parties.
Success Metrics
• Leadership: Guide implementation of cross-functional strategy for DAFs, CFs and wealth advisors with engagement and adoption from key partners within the IRC.
• Engagement Quality: Number and quality of engagements with DAFs, CFs, and allied professionals, including personal networking, educational events, and involvement in large-scale opportunities like DAF Day and Giving Tuesday.
• Internal Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration with internal partners to share information, create new or improved opportunities for engagement and solicitation, and open doors for Foundations, Major Giving, Corporates, and RAI colleagues.
• Activity Goals: Meetings with institutions in the portfolio, number and quality of engagements with institutions and advisors that increase IRC’s profile, and collaboration with RAI offices and other internal colleagues to activate strategy. While this position will not own a specific revenue goal, it is expected to drive impact across channels, resulting in more donors and revenue for the organization.
• Reporting: Responsible for working with Data Analytics teams to create a cohesive report on DAF, CFs, and other strategic giving modalities giving year-over-year to inform benchmarks for organizational success.
Candidate Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience working in nonprofit fundraising or equivalent experience in the financial services sectors for private wealth of donor advised fund sponsors.
• Successful track record of representing organization to external leaders and building strong working relationship with partners in the financial services sector in support of innovative revenue strategies
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop strategy and accountability for organizational goals in functional area.
• Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM systems and ability to analyze data to demonstrate trends, opportunities and results.
• Ability to travel for meetings to advance key IRC relationships and new strategic revenue partners

Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
US Benefits:
The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.
In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
