Associate Data Scientist Internship

JOB SUMMARY:

As an Associate AI Scientist at Trace3, you will experiment with cutting-edge approaches and develop proprietary models that tackle unique and complex challenges. Leveraging a consultative mindset, you will support the development and implementation of AI solutions that contribute to measurable business value for our clients. This role requires a strong foundation in data science methodologies, business process optimization, and consultative problem-solving. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate their AI journey while delivering measurable business value.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in developing and implementing AI solutions using advanced machine learning techniques, prescriptive/optimization methods, simulations, and causal inference.
• Support process improvement initiatives by preparing data and conducting initial analyses.
• Help develop and validate statistical models under senior guidance.
• Collaborate with team members to transform business requirements into analytical approaches.
• Participate in client workshops and help translate technical findings into understandable insights.
• Support the development of automated monitoring solutions for business processes.
• Create technical reports and experiment results.
• Assist in creation of project deliverables and executive read-outs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in data science or related analytical roles.
• Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning concepts.
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Understanding of common generative AI applications and architectures, such as retrieval augmented generation (“RAG”) and contextual routing.
• Strong appetite for continual learning and upskilling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
• Coursework or internship experience in data analysis or machine learning.
• Comfort with selecting and approaching basic machine learning challenges/projects.
• Understanding of basic statistical methods (central tendency, probability, sampling, etc.).
• Experience in consulting roles and comfortable navigating open-ended complex problems.
