Data Strategist & Activation Manager
Position:
The Data Strategist & Activation Manager defines the data-driven, multi-source analytics approach to develop insights that will power strategic recommendations and solutions that answer Finance functions challenges and business opportunities.The Data Strategist & Activation Manager develops a measurement strategy to define success metrics and tracking requirements, and they think through how data use cases can be designed to drive uplift in corporate functions processes, initiatives and analytics.
In this role, the strategist will be responsible for designing a data strategy complements and helps to accelerate the JTI Finance functions transformation roadmap, focusing on actionable around data ingestion, data enrichment and data activation.
You will work with the HQ Finance Functions teams to generate value leveraging industry and market knowledge plus internal/external data to accelerate the transformation or to empower the execution.
In addition to advanced analytic skills, this role is also proficient at assessing and evaluating data maturity level of the different business areas in Finance functions, designing and developing roadmaps to become a data driven company, co-creating data use cases engaging business stakeholders. The Data Strategist & Activation Manager will work closely with his colleagues to sharpen insights and translate them into use cases to drive further uplift in Finance business vision and advocate for use of data in meaningful ways.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying the business requirements and opportunities within Finance processes and business ideas
- Design data-driven use cases and define metrics and KPIs for success measurement to drive towards the business goals of JTI Finance department
- Develop Data Strategy playbooks and define quick wins solutions
- Develop data toolkits and/or frameworks to decentralize knowledge sharing and scale data activation

Define data governance templates (including roles & responsibilities for MVPs)
- Develop approach to breakdown data use cases into pre-requisites and path to execution, to then provide clarity to data scientists/ engineers on how to bring it to live
- Collaboration across HQ Finance Teams and key markets whenever relavnt to drive the data strategy across JTI
- Assess priorities and define high-level effort estimates for data use cases to map out roadmap for releases in collaboration with data product owner
- Closely collaborate with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to ensure the strategy is correctly executed and identify opportunities for data use cases that can further drive uplift in Finance processes, initiatives and business value
- Leverage on the insights generated by data analysts to provide recommendation and use cases that will significantly improve our ability to understand and address business issues within Finance

Who we are looking for:
- Relevant Degree in Business, Organisation Management, Data Science, Economics, Statistics or Finance
- Min. 5 years of business professional experience focusing on business/data strategy in the domain of Finance
- Familiar with data science lifecycle projects, from building phase to deployment and monitoring stage. Solid track record in analytics implementations and business consultation, as it will act as an interlock between the Data Scientists / Data Engineers and the Business Stakeholders
- Passionate about challenging data problems, finding insights in data, and applying your conclusions to drive clear and practical business impact
- Proven experience in defining data use cases, KPI frameworks and measurement approaches relating to Finance (or similar)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to identify and collaborate with key stakeholders across functions
- Experience with analytics storytelling, translating technical problems or solutions into business value
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
- Knowledge of agile ways of working (Devops, Scrums, retrospectives, backlogs)
- Digital mindset, analytical, entrepreneurial and curious
