About the role
You’ll be a key part of a team exploring new innovative design spaces and working on next-generation games as a service. Your following contributions you will make are critical to the game and Fortis’s success:
- Designing, balancing, and tuning systems and content to meet the goals of the game and enhance player engagement.
- Creating clear, actionable design specifications for cross-functional teams responsible for implementing systems.
- Collaborating closely with other designers, engineers, and artists to ensure smooth implementation and iteration of game features.
- Helping to refine and improve game balance, progression, and pacing, ensuring they align with the overall game vision.
- Sharing learnings with the broader product team and contribute to the overall development of our product strategy and portfolio of games.
What you’ll need to be successful
- An understanding of core design principles, game economies, player progression, and player psychology, enabling you to make design decisions that impact the overall experience.
- A keen sense of game balance, progression, and pacing, with an eye for detail and refinement.
- Enthusiasm for solving design challenges with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to synthesize feedback from the team and quickly iterate on designs to improve the player experience.
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn, staying current with trends and innovations in the industry, regardless of your role or title.
- A passion for continuous improvement and the drive to develop your craft as a game designer.
