A Logistics Co-ordinator ensures the efficient movement of goods and materials, overseeing shipping, delivery schedules, and inventory management. This role involves coordinating with vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations, timely deliveries, and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation and Delivery Management:
Coordinate and monitor shipping schedules and delivery processes.
Arrange transportation for goods and negotiate contracts with carriers.
Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays.
Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and shipments.
Coordinate with suppliers to manage stock levels and prevent shortages.
Optimize supply chain processes for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Communication and Documentation:
Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status.
Prepare and process shipping documents, invoices, and customs declarations.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for shipments.
Problem-Solving and Reporting:
Address and resolve logistics issues such as damaged goods, delayed shipments, or route changes.
Analyze logistics data and prepare performance reports for management.
Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Monitor transportation regulations and ensure the company complies with relevant standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, transportation management systems).
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures is a plus.
